As part of our Safety First Policy we ensure that we take the safety and wellbeing of our holidaymakers very seriously and our property is well maintained for your comfort and safety.

 

Nevertheless please remember that when you stay in unfamiliar surroundings you must take special care of yourself and your family.

 

  • Check the layout of the flat so that in an emergency you can get out quickly and easily.
  • The flat is fitted with a fire extinguisher, fire blanket, smoke detectors, torches and carbon monoxide detector. Please familiarise yourself with their location and use
  • Gas appliances in UK holiday properties have by law to be installed and maintained by CORGI registered engineers.  A copy of the annual inspection certificate is in the flat. If you have any doubts about the operation of the boiler for the central heating and hot water please alert us.
  • Fire extinguisher is also serviced annually and a copy of the certificate is in the flat.
  •  We supply copies of the intruction manuals for the appliances we supply, but are happy to help if you have problems in operating them. 

Please make us aware if you would not be able to hear the smoke alarm during the day or night, or could not need your room quickly and unaided in case of fire.

At Greystones we are committed to ensuring that all our guests are given a warm welcome and their needs are catered for effectively. It is vital that we make every effort to ensure that we make ourselves aware of any guests who have any special needs or disabilities in order to ensure that their stay is as enjoyable as possible.

 

It is our aim that guests with special requirements do not feel that they are discriminated against in any way and that they are welcomed in the same way in which we deal with all our guests.

 

We are committed to ensuring that all potential guests are made fully aware of the flat’s physical layout so that they can make a fully informed decision as to whether we have suitable accommodation and facilities.

 

Joan has attended the ‘Welcome Host’ and ‘Welcome All’ courses.

 

It is our policy to conform to relevant legislation as far as practicable.

 

Guests with Hearing Impairments

We would ask guest with hearing impairment to advise us, so that we are aware of their needs in the event of a fire evacuation. Our TV has Teletext for displaying subtitles to TV programmes.

 

Guests with Visual Impairments

I can print larger text versions of our booklet, route instructions, booking form, booking terms and conditions on request. Correspondence can also be supplied in large print versions.

 

Guests with Mobility Impairments

            Lyme is hilly. Greystones is built in a sloping site. The path from the car space to the flat is sloping, and there are 9 steps from the path up to the terrace entrance to the flat. The flat is split level, with 2 steps between lower and higher level, and a further 1 step up to the kitchen area.
